MANDATORY VACCINATION
Following recommendations by the Chief Public Health Office and our college and university colleagues across the region, we have determined that the best way to ensure that our programs can be delivered face-to-face, to minimize disruption of classes, and to protect the safety of the Institute of Advanced Learning community is to require mandatory full vaccination of all staff and students by Friday, October 15.
Exemptions to mandatory vaccination will be granted for medical, religious, or cultural reasons only. Those who are exempt will be required to be tested weekly by public health and will be required to wear masks at all times when they are in an Institute of Advanced Learning location.
Masks will not be mandatory for fully vaccinated staff and students. Please be aware that proof of full vaccination may be required.
The operational plan for contract tracing will be followed and all staff and students will be required to sign in while on campus.
We will continue to monitor the situation, follow public health guidelines and recommendations and provide updates as required.
If you are concerned that you may have been exposed to, or may be experiencing symptoms of, Covid-19, please call 811 for assessment information.
If you have questions about the coronavirus, call the provincial hotline: 1-800-958-6400. You will be asked to leave a message, and someone from the chief public health office will return your call within 24 hours.
